Meet Eva
My name is Eva Womack. I came to JMJ Pregnancy Center with an undecided mind. The guy I was with was abusive and being incarcerated. I told Krystina, the sonographer, that if I found out I was pregnant, it was going to be the worst day of my life! She showed me my ultrasound and told me that I was going to be having twins. I was shocked.
Just 3 years earlier, I had become pregnant unexpectedly with twins, had not been in a stable living situation, and had chosen adoption for them. I mourned the loss of not being able to parent them. Krystina said maybe God was giving me another chance to raise twins and be the mother I always wanted to be. After several failed relationships and my other previous children not living with me because of poor life choices I had made, I was feeling encouraged knowing that I could turn things around. I also learned later that, as I was seeing the ultrasound with my twins for the first time, two of my favorite aunts had just passed away in the days surrounding this important decision. I felt at peace knowing these two baby girls were chosen and that life was both short and precious.
I felt much better about this decision to be a parent again upon learning that JMJ could help me throughout my pregnancy and give me the resources I needed to be successful. JMJ helped me with maternity clothes, vitamins, get connected with a food pantry, and even gave me a baby shower, with the help of Bishop Moore Catholic High School. I recalled in the car that day after the shower how my first twins were adopted by a loving Catholic couple up in Canada. They continued sending me pictures and letters about the twins to keep me informed about their progress. I told Chloé, the JMJ Director in Orlando, that I was glad they were adopted by a Catholic family. I thank Jesus, Mary, and Joseph for opening my heart, mind, body, and soul to carry these beautiful girls, Ruth and Naomi. Now, I have met so many people willing to help me. The JMJ staff is amazing. I pray every woman gets their chance at motherhood. Ruth and Naomi bring so much joy to my life and the lives of those around them. The JMJ staff loves playing with the girls and visiting with me when I come in for my monthly supplies. They even check on us at home on a regular basis. We feel so blessed.
Thank You,
Eva
